I read an article on the NY Times website tonight titled "Both Sides Seeking to Be What Women Want." It highlighted many of the strategies both campaigns are using to appeal to the female vote, reading the article I started to feel disgusted with both candidates. Of course I want a president who is concerned with women and their rights, but I hate that the female vote has become the red flag tied in the middle of the political tug-of-war rope.

"... the McCain campaign’s strategy is to emphasize personality, capitalizing on the booming celebrity of Ms. Palin..."I don't like this section of the article. There is more personality highlights the McCain campaign is capitalizing on like his story as a war hero, but I wish the McCain campaign didn't feel the need to capitalize on the "celebrity" of Sarah Palin.

Maybe I am the only woman that feels this way but I don't like so much focus being put on one gender like this. I just wish elections and polls and all things of this nature could be seen in a more general way. I want to know what you are going to do for all of us, how you are going to turn the world's perception of us around, how you are going to help fix the economy so that so many aren't struggling to make it anymore. Not us as in women, but us as in Americans. If you want to unite us Mr. Obama, Mr. McCain maybe you should stop dividing us the way you do.
