With all this talk about Sarah Pallin’s past it seems like most of it is being blown out of proportion. Newsweek took a look back on 1996 and the decisions that Pallin made. As the Mayor of the city she is entitled to fire certain people in order to make a change. As the article states, “Palin "made the decision ... because the people of Wasilla had elected her to reform Wasilla's government and he actively worked to frustrate those efforts," says Taylor Griffin, a spokesman for the McCain-Palin campaign.” If specific individuals are not in agreement with the changes she has promised to make, then by all means she should find someone who is qualified and place them in that position. To have the police captain address the new mayor as “little lady” is not only sexist but completely inappropriate. That constitutes being fired right there. Also having an unauthorized background check done on the new mayor and her husband is a little over the top and does nothing more than create uneasiness and distrust from the start. While her choices may have upset a few people it seems it was the right choice for the state, and that's what her main concern should be.
