Sarah Palin has basically been a miracle to the McCain campaign.
Since the Vice Presidential nomination announcement, Republican support has increased, and all the media wants to cover is Palin: the glasses, the action figures, the personal controversy. Many swing-voting women have turned in support of McCain since his V.P. nomination. She is appealing to conservative women and has been a phenomenon since she burst onto the national political scene, less than three weeks ago. Conservative women are standing behind her; some of which, in Florida have boycotted Oprah, since refusing to allow Palin on the show.
But lets not assume that because Sarah Palin, a woman, is on the ballot all women are fawning over her. Many feminist are vehemently opposed to what she represents. Because so many women who have supported Hillary, have turned in support of McCain/Palin, this week Obama has a theme to attempt to win back the female vote, "Women in the Change We Need".
The Obama ticket is now campaigning the hardest to middle-class white women. "Women have voted in larger proportions than men- for almost 3 decades". The white middle-class demographic is an important group to target. The new political advertisements put in rotation by the democrats are reminding women tuned into "Live With Regis and Kelly" and "Dr. Phil", that Obama is not running against Sarah Palin, he is running against McCain.
McCain knows how to maintain media attention, and will rally this week in Ohio, with the Republican's sweetheart, Palin.
