First it was Obama who was thrust into the spotlight and given the star treatment.  His "rockstar" image has been carfully shrugged off and his cool, calm, and collected demenor played up.  At times, where ever he spoke almost came off as a spectacle.  I'll admit, it was quite entertaining.  But that's where it gets interesting.  I don't look to be entertained when it comes to choosing my next president.  Now Sara Palin has become the front runner of the media.  I couldn't believe the extent at which the media would go to get some TV time.  There was a segment on Palin that was dedicated to talking about who she was, from the time she was born all the way up to today.  It was almost something like what you would see on "E! True Hollywood Story".  Is all of that necessary?  I mean, I don't really know.  The whole fashionable eye glasses icon that she's been coined as is a bit extensive, but creating a doll similar to a Barbie doll is where things just get a little crazy.  She's not even running for president, yet she's getting much more air time than the person she's running under.  Don't get me wrong, it's nice to know who's trying to convince you to vote for them.  But turning one of the most important and critical elections into some sideshow is just a bit extreme.
