In the last week, the McCain campaign has put out an Internet ad accusing Obama of calling Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin pig when he used the phrase putting "lipstick on a pig" to criticize the GOP ticket as trying to make a ba situation look better. McCain supporters said Obama was slyly alluding to Palin's description of herself as a pitbull in lipstick, but there was nothing in his remarks to support the claim.
What Obama was really saying was that in politics there are no real surprises. What you see, or what you think you see, is not what you get. It's all illusory. Politicians will promise you all sorts of things but in the end it's ultimately disappointing. So keep your expectations low.
I really dont think Obama made this remark to offend Sarah Palin in any way. I believe this is just another example of how the Democratic party really should think before they speak. Each political party needs to focus on the issues at hand. Stop complaining about who said what and tell us why you should be president!
