I was pleasantly surprised to see that Senator McCain was able to take time out of his campaign trail to attend his 50th class reunion at the Naval Academy. I personally do not care about the senator’s age and think it is great that he was able to attend. I liked the fact that the senator not only laughs about times he spent there but also has a sense of humor when announcing he was ranked fifth from the last in his class. USAtoday.com went on to tell us about the upcoming debate and Obama’s hope to win some of the states that have voted Republican in the last few elections. One state that I was surprised to see talked about was North Carolina. The percentage of their black population that was registered and voted in 2004’s election was only 4 percent and is currently up to 10 percent. I think that shows that this year’s election has created quite the buzz and I hope to see more people show up to vote this November, regardless of their party affiliation. I think the fact that this election has sparked the interest of many American’s to become more interested and involved in the election is great! We need more American’s to stand up for what they want in their President and stop being so indifferent. While the country prepares for the first debate this upcoming Friday it’s great to know McCain was able to see his son Jack, who attends the Naval Academy, as well as his old classmates as they watched the Midshipmen win their second game of the season!
