Joe Biden's speech last night connected with down-trodden democrats. He talked about growing up as a middle class kid in scranton and dealing with a speech impediment. There were no signs of a stutter last night, except for a freudian "slip" where he called Sen. McCain by George Bush's name. The Deleware Senator ripped in to his travel buddy McCain's policies and voting history. He resurfaced the fact that McCain voted not to send more troops into Afghanistan after the major conflict was already through. While Biden pointed out that, Obama voted to send in two batallions to get the job done. Biden assured the delegates that the the taliban is reforming in the Kashmir region between Pakistan and Afghanistan. It seems that Biden is using pre-election scare tactics reminiscent of the Bush administrations WMD debacle. Only time will tell.
His mantra throughout the speech was "that's not change, it's more of the same." Biden exclaimed "the American Dream is slipping away" and he thinks Obama is the man to get it back. Obama presumably, if elected, will create 5 million jobs in Alternative energy research and production. Biden also said that Obama will hold Russia accountable for trespassing into Georgia. The freudian slip was the highlight of the speech. Can't wait to see who McCain picks up as a Vice Presidential candidate.
