I, personally, am very glad that the political parties are putting aside their agendas for a few days and focusing on what America really needs...a unified front. With Gustav coming, both parties have made efforts to put aside their differences and try to rally support for the coastal areas through fundraising and scheduling. I am not nieve. I know that their intentions are not entirely wholesome. But frankly, money helps support "one of the largest evacuations in American history"(New York Times).  I am just glad to see some good old fashioned patriotism. Call me emotional, but I was truly glad to see our nation united after the events of September 11. In these cynical and suspicious times when political parties are playing their dirtiest cards, some unity would do this nation good.
