For the past few days now in my political science class, the professor has been talking about the fabled "October surprise." The teacher explained that the October surprise is the phenomenon that occurs nearly every presidential election right before November 4th where one party pulls out all the stops and leaks or reveals something about the other candidate. In the past elections it has been things such as George Bush's drunk driving conviction in his younger years. However, I think this year the October surprise fell through. There was no bombshell dropped by either party about the opposing candidate. Unless something comes out in the next few days, I guess the mythical "October surprise" won't be happening this year...
