On Sunday I came across two interesting stories by the New York Times. Both stories centered on how the candidates are ready for this election to be finished.

According to one article, McCain is taking it easy even though he's lagging in polls. The article said that his staff knows it's out of his and their hands, and is now just a waiting game. They also said he's relieved to know the long race is about to conclude. Personally, I think it takes a major toll on a person to run for president. I know for a fact that I could never fill the shoes of a commander-in-chief. A perfect example of this is a picture of Obama that the New York Times snapped. In the picture it's obvious that Obama is simply worn out. He's leaning back in his chair on his campaign plane with his head resting on his hand, talking on the phone. I'm certain both candidates are counting down the hours, minutes and seconds till the election.

The article said McCain's been lightening the mood by sharing stories and reciting his favorite Henny Youngman jokes. As of Monday, McCain is beginning his 18-hour tour through seven states. He will first visit Tennessee, then northeast to Pennsylvania, Indiana, New Mexico, Nevada and Arizona. McCain is even scheduled to appear on MTV and Monday Night Football this evening.

For Obama he's visiting conservative states such as Florida, Virginia, and North Carolina. His vp pick and his wife Michelle are touring Missouri, Nevada, Colorado and Ohio.

All I can say is that I'm right there with the presidential candidates... I'm ready for the election to be finished. I have said my peace about both men, their opinions, their policies, etc. All I hope for is that our country elects the best man for the job. Someone who can pull our struggling nation out of it's rut and back on track.
