I saw a guy the other day wearing an Obama shirt. It had his face on the front of it and I was like "Wow, people are really supporting Obama." As he walked past he gave me a look and I looked back at him. I then caught a glimpse of what was on the back of his shirt. In big bold white letters it read, "It's called the White House, stupid!" I couldn't believe how bold this person was. Is racism still alive in America? Okay that was a rhetorical question. But seriously, when are people going to realize that African Americans or "Them Blacks", as we are often referred to when people don't want to use the term "nigger", (Yeah I said it, does it make you uneasy? Well it should.) are just as much human and American as everyone else. We learn to speak English, we get educated, we eat, sleep, and sh** just like everyone else in this country, but people still treat us like or think of us as second rate citizens. And it can clearly be seen in this election. People have posted things on line that were just hideously egregious. Just take Youtube for example. Some citizens of Ohio were interviewed after Sarah "Save-the-world" Palin delivered her speech. They made racially explicative comments about African Americans (Them Blacks) and made derogatory comments about Obama. Some confessed their fears of an African American (That Black) running our country and felt that he would turn our whole country black. Now what race has to do with one's qualification to make sound decisions is beyond me. We're all educated with the same basic principles even though some people have access to a higher level of learning but the basic foundation is there. Therefore what does it matter if we have a black president, or a white president? Dam, I'm hungry.
