Now that we are within the last thirty days of this election for president of the United States, its time for bringing out the "last thirty days issues". According to a New York Times article "Seeking to Shift Attention to Judicial Nominees", Supreme Court judges are considered to be one of these issues. Evan Tracy, the head of a company that monitors political advertising,  discussed that it is difficult to know how these issues will go in the election. Often the last month of an election is when single core issue ads hit the airways. Messages concerning guns, abortion and civil rights often connect with core voters.

McCain launched a new ad this week in Michigan and Ohio displaying three controversial figures that Obama has been tied with. Antoin Rezko, Bill Ayers and Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr. appear in the ad, which makes the claim that due to his past associations, Barack Obama cannot be trusted to pick judges for the Supreme Court. Many people are carefully watching swing states to see if social issues become deciding factors. However, advisors in both camps agree that it is unlikely that social issues will trump the economic problems this fall.
