According to an article in Newsweek, the McCain campaign is furious that he is behind in Florida by 5 points after leading in the state for so long. The McCain campaign in Florida feels that the national campaign needs to put more emphasis on volunteers in the state and that the campaign is being poorly run there. The drop in support for McCain stems from the economic crisis, but with 3 weeks left until election day, Florida republicans feel like something needs to be done as soon as possible. Many feel that if McCain loses The Sunshine State, the game is over for him. But there is hope, some counties such as Pinellas in the southern part of Florida seem to be leaning towards McCain, and that would be victory in itself if McCain could pull off a win in the usually solid democratic south Florida.
