I just read an article by another blogger on the internet. She says “McCain and Palin are allowing their supporters to make the most violent, hateful comments that have ever been seen in a campaign.” Apparently McCain supporters are making racist comments about Obama. Congressman John Lewis thinks McCain is acting like George C. Wallace, a former governor of Alabama with pro-segregation viewpoints. He thinks McCain is conforming to his supporters, believing that Obama is a non-Christian, terrorist. This blogger says that McCain has not apologized for anything. But what would McCain apologize for? He can’t necessarily apologize for his own supporters because they could in turn be offended that McCain is apologizing for them. McCain wants to keep all of the supporters he can; that’s understandable. I am not sure what else he can say without offending anyone in particular. McCain has defended Obama saying that he is a family man, he is not dangerous, and that we have nothing to worry over if Obama is president. What more can he say?
