I have been crazy studying for tests this week, so I have not gotten to weigh in on my interning experience thus far. However, there is a lot about my week that I'd like to pontificate on, so bear with me.
First and foremost, my experience interning for Fox News was absolutely something I will remember for the rest of my life. It was SO. FREAKING. COOL. Although it was a lot of hours, effort, and a LOT of hard work (I can safely say that I worked harder and longer during that week than I did at any of my "real" jobs in high school) it was also one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever had the pleasure of having. I got to meet so many accomplished people, the absolute top of the list being JOHN KERRY!!! He has always been one of my idols, and getting to shake his hand and see him in the flesh. . .words cannot even describe how wonderful that was. It was also such an interesting learning experience seeing how a news organization is really run, and all the time and painstaking effort it takes behind the scenes to get and keep the show running. I feel so, so lucky to have been part of this class and gotten to do what I did. As my mom told me, it was a once in a lifetime opportunity that could only happen this once in history, and I got to be a part of that. Pretty flipping sweet, if you ask me.
