With all of the buildup to debate week, it felt like it passed by too quickly. After my experience working for FOX News I was ready to pack up and head to St. Louis with the entire crew, I wasn't ready for my whirlwind experience to end. I was lucky enough to work with a group of people who were kind and full of suggestions. There wasn't a one who wouldn't answer your questions or guide you in the right direction. I was able to watch from the start to the finish, we were able to see how they set up lights, to the production, I was able to work with a cameraman and his partner who did sound. They taught me how to mic people and place IFBs so the interviewee could hear the interviewer via satellite, they kindly allowed me to listen in on one such interview as well.
The experience was much more than I could have hoped for, so Saturday when I said good-bye I genuinely hoped I would see these people again. I've learned so much in my classes here but I don't think anything will replace what I was able to learn from my experience during the debate. By the end of the week I was worn out, a little grumpy and in complete anxiety over when I will get to live that life again. I can't help it, I was bitten by the bug.
