I couldn't resist writing about Newsweek's article, "Blogging Like the World Depended On It." I'm sure all the other debate interns could agree with me, that we have indeed learned the importance of blogging.
At the beginning of the school year, it was easy for me to type my weekly blogs and think nonchalantly that no one would ever actually read them; however, I was extremely wrong. So many people have commented to me about the debate blog, and through this process I've discovered several blogs that I now rely on for information.
According to Newsweek, a relatively new website, Change.org, is seeking to accomplish basically what blogger.com has. Regarding the upcoming election, change.org has realized the necessity many people have to blogs. It's not hard to see why blogging has become a big hobby for many people.
Blogs are a source of personal opinion, written by real people who aren't always being paid. They are forms expression that aren't limited by rules, and can be read by whomever whenever. The popularity of the blogging community will only grow greater, and as is does, not just journalists will be able to write stories for the world to see. Blogging for everyone, is a way of the future.
