Every little lovely click I take I find that I’m led to more “news-breaking” stories regarding the one and only Alaskan Gov., Sarah Palin. The Internet has become a perpetual battleground of Palinsanity (my newest coined political term). Whether it's articles condeming her family, praising her history, or blogs describing her hubby as hot (they are out there)...the web is clearly fascinated with Sarah Palin. Keep in mind, all the publicity isn’t necessarily bad. She’s new. She’s fresh, and while I know it’s tempting to loose faith in the media for covering her so vigorously, she’s the most they’ve had to talk about since Obama was selected the Democrat nominee for President. Not to mention Palin’s become the paprika that the McCain campaign was missing and in dire need of.
I really hate categorizing any party into one group, so I will just subtly state that there are select Democrats that are frankly running scared from Palin. She’s having a veritable Obama effect for the McCain campaign. Obama was once the media’s favorite, but now that he’s been set aside as last week’s flavor, he and his campaign are attempting to do all they can to squash the fire that Palin has created. The governor has proven herself to be a monumental politician, and perhaps that’s why the left has pulled out their pitchforks and aimed their knifes directly at her.
However, the female politician seems to be the least upset by all the media flocking to her every move. I wonder how she can remain so calm, especially when there are people hacking into her personal email.
SNL (Saturday Night Live) even performed a comedy sketch this past week portraying Palin as inexperienced compared to other female politicians, such as an almost Democratic, female nominee that will remain anonymous. I viewed the short, little skit, and it was pretty hilarious. With Tina Fey acting as Palin, how can it not be? Gov. Palin actually watched the episode, and commented to Fox News that Fey's appearance was spot on. Once again, her classiness impresses me.
Then again, someone who’s single-handedly taken on big oil tycoons and beat running incumbents, probably just brushes off snide Hollywood remarks. As I’m learning the closer we get to election time, the more desperate both parties will become, the nastier the rumors will get. Of course, I’m still wondering where, oh where has Joe Biden gone?
