Palin's Posterity

Annoyed by Newsweek's article "McCain's 'Hail Sarah' Pass" is unabashedly liberal. Partisan news is outspoken "unbiased" news keep it fair. Errors were many and need addressing.

The first paragraph sets a sarcastic liberal tone for the article. PERIOD!

The third paragraph reports Palin will fail and her odds of making it through the scrutiny are slim. Thanks to the media and Democrats. Most Americans can't seem to find fault. The only criticism I've heard is her unmarried pregnant daughter and firing a state trooper, which has little to do with Palin right now. More questions are raised of Senators Obama, Biden, and McCain than has of Palin.

In paragraphs four and five author Jonathan Alter speaks about energy and ANWR. Alter mentions how Palin supports drilling helping America’s energy crisis but then goes on to say how drilling is unsupported by facts it could help America; and Barack Obama said in his acceptance speech drilling is a "stopgap" measure. According to www.anwr.org, coastal plains could produce up to 1.5 million barrels per day lasting at least twenty-five years and save the U. S. $14 billion per year in oil. Drilling would create between 250,000-735,000 jobs. The Alaskan legislature, Governor, congressional delegation, and 75% of Alaskans favor drilling. To say Palin's position goes unsupported by facts is wrong. While drilling is not the solution McCain and Palin agree finding other solutions but drilling would help.

The sixth paragraph acknowledges Obama's resume may be short due to his months of campaigning but he’s up to the task of being president. Campaigning doesn’t qualify someone to be president. Palin has run a city, state, and National Guard. What has Obama lead? Experience is the issues for presidential candidates while additional strengths are Vice Presidential candidates’. To change Washington as Obama suggests takes a D. C. outsider not an insider. McCain is doing that while Obama talks.

In paragraphs six and seven Alter criticizes Palin; criticism of her personal life and issues with little substance. Attacks are on her pregnant daughter, the trooper firing, Palin's inexperience (pot calling the kettle black), and motherhood. Claims that are contradictory of previous Obama positions. the trooper controversy bares watching. According to Anchorage Daily News, Palin has not been found guilty of anything with little suspicion. A tip line created seeking information of wrong doing by Palin. I have not been able to find anything reported. These are weak attempts to destroy Palin but Democrats must fear her.

The last two paragraph talks about how the media will hound on Palin’s "possible wrong doings". Why didn't the media have a field day with Hillary Clinton who has more scandals and suspicions than the other four candidates? Alter says some women feel patronized by Palin. Then why not Hillary?

Wanting to say more, but limited I feel Palin has Democrats running scared. They should be. People will be listening when the debates focus on issues rather than her personal life, criticism, or deceiving facts.
