A USA Today survey showed that McCain is now ahead of Obama 50 percent to 46 percent, a definite turn around for McCain from a recent poll that was taken just before the RNC. That poll had McCain trailing Obama by 7 percentage points. US Vice President Dick Cheney called Palin's nomination and her convention speech "superb". As I stated earlier in a recent blog that I did, this was something that the Republican Party really needed. McCain earlier was riding on his war experience at the beginning of his campaign, and now with Sarah Palin backing him I think the Republican Party is now heading in the right steps that our country is in need of. In an article that I read online concerning the polls states that experts attributed the McCain rebound to his party's convention and the surprise naming of Alaska governor Palin. That was found on the AFP website in an article titled US campaign sharpens as McCain takes poll lead. I think by the poll leads and the news buzz that is occuring choosing Palin as his Vice President was a smart move by McCain for the Republican ticket.
