Man Of Honor

In the latest edition of Time Magazine, John McCain is revealed as a man possessed by a great passion to preserve this country’s honor first and foremost in this election. While this is something the United States desperately needs, is it what this nation desperately needs right now? Or should our thoughts be more directed towards the treacherous bomb known as the Middle East ticking with greater speed and force every day? Or should our thoughts be more directed towards the current downhill state of our economy and other such problems at home?
Or will all of these things never be able to be solved unless the United States regains McCain’s precious honor he constantly speaks of?
But, will the pursuit of honor be enough to carry John McCain all the way to the White House? Many people in this country are seeking tangible evidence of change and improvement after such a long drought of success at home and abroad. Many people wish to see America in her throne of worldly power and dominance once again, especially after these recent years of dependence on other countries to provide America with the resources her citizens are demanding. But, perhaps for America to crawl back onto her great pedestal of power, McCain is right. Maybe what this country is and has been lacking for the past eight years is unity in its people in the pursuit of honor. Perhaps with that honor back into the possession of our country, we can truly begin to transform the present affairs both domestic and foreign.
While it may seem trivial and a bit romantic for the present times, with all of its terrorism, oil crises, immigration issues, economic downslides, maybe that is exactly what America needs to begin her uphill climb back to the top: the pursuit of honor and a man willing to continue that pursuit through to its completion.
