I think this is a good read for everyone that has a chance to look at it:

Sometimes I wonder what I would do if I were running for vice president of the United States. I cannot imagine the amount of media attention watching my every move and zooming in on my every flaw, mistake or dysfunctional family life. Palin is a mother of five children including an infant that was born with downs syndrome (I’ve blogged about this before). It is mind boggling to figure how you would have time to balance that kind of home life. And at the same time, dealing with a son who has just deployed to Iraq for 12 months and a finding out that her daughter is pregnant at the age of 18. All of these facts leads to my question that the above article touched on, when is it inappropriate for the media to keep digging in one’s personal life?
Palin did put herself in the spotlight and therefore made herself vulnerable to any negative attention. I do think it is wrong that the media keeps prying into her personal life after she has made it clear that she does not want to open up about it. Referring to her daughter’s pregnancy and feelings on her son’s departure to Iraq, Palin has stated that those "are issues of family and should remain so.” But like James Poniewozik touched on, anytime a celebrity (there are others besides Obama) plays hard to get with the media- the media will focus on that issue even more. Maybe instead of prying in Palin’s personal life, maybe the media can do a better job at informing the nation of both parties stand on the issues they are talking about. I feel as though sometimes the media wants all the dirt on a particular candidate and forget what they are supposed to be informing the public about.
