As I was looking online at the most recent political news articles, I ran across an advertisement for something quite peculiar. It was a Hallmark ad for "sound cards" with political messages. This caused me to think, "Are we going a little overboard as far as commercializing the presidential race?" I mean, where do we draw the line? This product is, of course, not harmful but it brings up a point. I have seen so much paraphernalia surrounding the debate, I can hardly keep it straight. Bobble heads, posters, cards, t-shirts, ect...but in the back of my mind, I am wondering if the Americans who are buying the products know anything about the candidates. Instead of everyone buying and buying, I wish they would concern themselves with the issues the candidates are facing. Of course, this is not Utopia, and I should know by now that America is more content with mindless shopping, than research and following issues.
