FEMA failed again. Hurricane Ike victims will have to wait till Monday to receive food and supplies from FEMA aids. Since FEMA conducted its work poorly during Katrina and Rita, I thought that three years would be a sufficient amount of time to train and prepare for future hurricanes. Obviously not. Although a day or two doesn't seem like a long time, it truly is. These victims have no homes, food, clean water, clothes, money, etc. Even people who prepared for the storm by stocking supplies and food lost everything. Millions of hurricane victims are also displaced and having to stay in high school gyms. An article on CNN.com said 13 people in Louisiana, Arkansas and Texas have died from Ike related problems. It also said that it might be a month until power is restored in cities and a curfew for residents is in place.
Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama are still in cahoots with FEMA about Katrina. Since this was FEMA's second time to redeem itself, maybe it will have the opportunity on its third attempt.
