On Sunday, August 24, 2008, CBS News' Face the Nation featured former mayor of New York Rudy Giuliani (R) in what seemed to me an ode to Vice- Presidential nominee Sarah Palin (R) and a supposed validation to all those willing to listen of Obama's ignorance going into the campaign. He portrayed Palin as the superwoman to the Republican campaign, praising her accomplishments and decisions as mayor and and governor. No disrespect to Gov. Palin, but there are 49 other governors and numerous mayors who have had encounter and prevail from countless emergencies such as she has; What makes her different? And though Sen. Obama lacks years, and as Giuliani blatantly detailed, " He has never run a city, he's never run a state...he's never led people in crisis"; other government has led the U.S. in crisis, and failed in the eyes of the American public. Experience is government is only valuable if the emergencies and crises were administered appropriately and punctually; and even if an official fail short at one of these attributes, he or she accounted for their afflictions accurately, learned from them, and prevailed justly in the end. I understand the Mayor Giuliani was trying to stir up conversation, and serve forefront of his political party, but instead of giving broad instances of why Palin is highly and Obama is not, the people need detailed instances and situations on each. Time is dwindling; and for the sake of political impact, it is extremely important for politicians to give particularized descriptions on who they do and do not support and why.
