Apparently this fashion season, purple is the color to wear. However, Time put out an article in its most recent edition about how the color is in this season because of politics.
The article talks about how the color purple can have many interpretations for what it means. The color that used to stand for royalty can now mean “discontent of a desire for change” as a mixture between a “cool blue (peace, hope) and warm red (passion, anger, turmoil).”
Purple can be seen everywhere right now. Time shows examples of clothes, shoes, technology and even kitchen appliances. Why so much purple this season? The General Motors executive in charge of external color and trim, Chris Webb, has one thought.
“…reds are going bluer.”
Is this true of this political season? Guess we will see if purple leans more red or more blue tomorrow.
