Site Network: Debate This, Ole Miss. | the j-department | debate.olemiss.edu | mblog | mcast | the university of mississippi

As usual, I picked up the DM today to read the latest news on our campus. On the bottom of the front page is a photo with caption about Mary Queyja's political yard signs being stolen and vandalized. It's certainly not the first time this has happened. I live on one of the main roads in Oxford -- Jackson Ave. -- and I have a few neighbors whose signs have been stolen throughout the semester, especially during the week of the presidential debate.

Whoever stole, vandalized, or burned those signs... shame on you! That's a very cowardly move on your part and it's horrible that you don't have the common descency to respect the property of others. However, there's no need to fret because as soon as my neighbor's sign was ripped out of the ground, they immediately stuck another one in their front yard.

Also, I hope students thought in advance to get their absentee ballotts. I know my roomate and I did. I can't speak for other states, but the absentee ballotts in Mississippi have to be sealed in the envelope provided and then notarized. Anyways, good luck to the presidential candidates and I pray the best man for the job is elected.
