As I watched John McCain concede defeat to Barack Obama, I hoped that he would go out gallantly. I was very dismayed when I heard Sen. McCain say "I understand this is a great moment for African-Americans." Really? Was that a necessary shot to take? Everyone around the world understood the signifigance of the election of Barack Obama, but he had to say it out loud? At that precise moment I knew I had stopped listening and had started looking forward to the next speech from the President-Elect.
