I voted!

So last Wednesday I went to the polls to voice my opinion for the race to the White House.  It was honestly, one of the coolest things I have ever done.  While standing in line for nearly 4 hours at the Agricenter International in Memphis, I had a lot of time to think about the decision I was about to make, and the impact it would have on not only me, but the rest of the world.  Sounds crazy, but if the saying that each vote counts, and that the United States President is the most powerful man in the world, then my vote really did affect the lives of millions of people.  When I went in to vote, I was surprised to see the number of Independent candidates on the ballot as well.  Besides the green party, I didn't expect to see so many choices.  Also, voting taught me that I need to be more aware of what is going on in local politics.  I was voting for people for no other reason besides party affiliation, and this is not something I want to continue to do in the future.  It is sort of like McCain says, you have to reach across party lines, and that was not something that I did.  With election day only two days away, I am on the edge of my seat (or bed) with anticipation of the outcome.  We shall see, and until then, I will keep my eyes and ears open!
