John McCain’s new commercial debuted this morning. So far his new commercial has aired once on MSNBC and once on Wink TV in Florida. It is scheduled to air nationally, but has not run as a paid advertisement. His new ads places great emphasis on Senator Barrack Obama’s relationship with Bill Ayers. Ayer was one of the Weather Underground founders and someone with whom Obama had worked together on two non-profit boards in Illinois. One of the two projects included the Anneburg challenge (an education project that was partly funded by the Nixon administration). McCain claims Obama is a “liar”, blames democrats for the sub-prime mortgage crisis and also accusing them of being in favor for deregulation.
The “liar” part of the commercial developed over the past couple of days, due to Obama playing down his relationship with Ayers. Obama once claimed on behalf of Ayers “This is a guy who lives in my neighborhood, who’s a professor of English in Chicago, who I know and who I have not received some official endorsement from. He’s not somebody who I exchange ideas from on a regular basis.”
