Sarah Palin

First of all, it is extremely admirable of John McCain to chose a 44 year old woman as his running mate, and this has been completely overlooked. AND the fact that Sarah Palin is as far from a "Washington Insider" as you can get is overlooked as well. Yes, Barack Obama claims that he is not one of those insiders, but isn't funny that he chose a man with 40 years of Washington experience as his running mate??? But, back to Palin... The fact that she has a 17 year old daughter that is pregnant has been the main focus, and whether or not Palin can be a mother and run the country has been an even bigger one. Furthermore,  that question has NEVER been asked of a man. Did that question come up when Bill Clinton was elected, NO. Has that question ever been asked of Barack Obama who has two children under the age of ten?? ABSOLUTELY NOT! Because it never will be.

Yes, Palin may have a 17 year old pregnant daughter, but that does not reflect who she is as a person. It is admirable of Palin's 17 year old daughter to have made the choice to keep the baby. She could have easily had an abortion, and no one would have ever known that she was pregnant. To me, that show's great character in a young girl who has been thrown in to the limelight literally over night, and that character is learned, most likely from a strong mother...
