So I turned on the Today show this morning as I sipped my coffee and put on my makeup,expecting to hear something entertaining or noteworthy from the campaign trail. Nope. Instead I hear that Barack Obama used an insanely cliche phrase about putting lipstick on a pig but its still a pig and now the McCain camp is trying to contort this into an inuendo towards his running mate Sarah Palin. Seriously... this is absurd. The worst thing Obama did was use a terribly unoriginal phrase.It was clear from viewing the footage of Obama speaking that it was not a jab at Palin whatsoever. This overblown incident is exactly what worries me about the choice we as Americans have to make as to who will be our next president. We,media included, are more focused on the superflous comments than on the issues at hand .Obama's speech was on education, but I doubt anyone remembers.
