My original reason for attending Justine magazine's discussion panel at the Overby Center on Tuesday was simple: Dr. Husni wanted us to be there, and that was reason enough for me! However, I can honestly say that I am so glad I went. It was truly refreshing to see such dedication and thoughtfulness within such a young group of people. I would be lying if I said that I took such an active interest in the world around me as those kids do NOW, let alone when I was 16 or 17. It was a really interesting and cool notion that people who are a good dealer younger and more inexperienced than I can still inspire and motivate me to work harder and be better. I got a great deal out of the experience, and cannot wait to see the other exciting events and challenges that this class will bring! :)

I agree with Alex, all of the teenage panelists thoroughly impressed me and motivated me to become more informed and involved in politics and current events. Thsi statement, "It was a really interesting and cool notion that people who are a good dealer younger and more inexperienced than I can still inspire and motivate me to work harder and be better," was somewhat interesting to me--reminding me of a certain presidential candidate who is a good deal younger and supposedly more "inexperienced" than the other candidate in the election. Perhaps some of Obama's appeal is that despite his age and experience level, he is inspiring people across the nation and across the world.
