In a recent speach Senator Joe Biden said that Hillary Clinton "might have been" a better choice as the Democratic vice-presidential nominee. This comment is typical of Joe Biden. Many people wondered why Obama would choose Biden as his running mate particularly because Biden unsuccessfully sought the Democratic presidential nomination in 1998 and 2008. Since Obama has not yet finished a term in the Senate and Biden has served 6 terms and is also chairman for the senate foreign relations committee it was Obama's thought that Biden would be the better choice. In addition to shore up his lack of experience Obama made a trip to the Middle East and Europe to show the American public that he could meet with foreign heads of state.

Biden's Achilles heel has always been his mouth so it was not totally surprising when he said that Hillary Clinton might have been the better running mate for Barack Obama. By making that statement it aired what many people thought; that Hillary Clinton would make a better running mate and assuring the Democratic party a victory in November

I agree with Joe Biden. He doesn't bring much strength to the Democratic ticket. Hillary would have strenghtened the ticket which would have blunted the advantage that palin has given to the McCain ticket.
