Football over Hardball

Its Sunday...its raining...and I have a runny nose so I crawl into my bed and begin flipping channels. First CNN, second Fox then just random scrolling until I finally stopped on the Redskins / Saints game. Now mind you I like football, its fun to watch.I appreciate a good game but probably forgot who we were playing in the first place. So why did I stop on a NFL game, of which I couldnt tell you a single players name on either team off the top of my head, instead of watching the analysis of Obama's tax plan or clips of Sarah Palin's interview with Charlie Gibson??? Probably because I am tired of hearing about it. I dont know if living in Oxford is helping this because everywhere you turn there's a "the debate starts here" sign or ugly fencing for security purposes, but regardless..I am tired of it. I hope Americans are still interested, but everyday there is a new scandal and some comment on either McCain or Obama or their spouses and their comments. Enough already...I am so tired of hearing all the he said she said I am tempted to turn the tv off and stick to movies. Classics like My Fair Lady or The Sound of Music are much more pleasant than oil prices and tax cuts. Ok out of fairytale land but seriously tell me relevant things plainly and simply, and only the relevant things and I might pay attention again.
