After hearing of the record high $77 million raised for Obama’s campaign by late August I honestly do not understand why so much money is being given. Not because I support him or not, but because there are many other ways for that money to be spent. I understand that money needs to be spent for TV ads, posters etc but $77 million dollars?? These candidates speak of problems in the school system, Medicare, lowing taxes but in order to get that point across they need millions of dollars? Yes, a campaign needs money to flourish and the candidates need to have the money to make ads and get their faces out in the open but there should be a limit. A campaign should be used for American’s to see the platforms of the candidates running for president, not millions spent on a publicity race.

I think it is great that the people of this country have the ability to personally give money to the candidate of their choice but why not give that money to a cause. If your candidate is pushing for more educational books in the public school system then donate money to your nearest school. What better way to show that a candidate is going to make a change then to have his or her supports making one even before they reach office.
