Yesterday I read an article saying that the topic of the Presidential Debate changed from economics and domestic affairs into foreign policy and national security. Changing such an important aspect just one moth before the debate takes places leaves me wondering why. Why is it that they chose to open the race, a time where they can really make a strong case for themselves and for the citizens of this country, with topics not directly affecting the Americans themselves? I understand that in the world and time that were living in and the constant threats that are surrounding us, national security and foreign policy are without a doubt very important topics that need to be discussed. But when your own country and your own citizens have to deal with health care problems, dental care problems, failing education systems, people living from paycheck to paycheck or not even on paychecks but on a minimum welfare, isn't it more important to adress those problems first? Shouldn’t they be topic nr 1?
Isn’t it the most important thing to start of this race by telling the citizens of America what their new president is going to do for them?
