With the announcement of Sarah Palin as the Vice Presidential running mate to John McCain on Friday, and after reading Campaign Starts with Running Mates in Tow on NYTimes.com, I am not sure what I really think of Senator McCain's decision yet.  A mother of 5 and a young child with down syndrome, it really just scares me to think that she truly is one heart beat away from being the President of the United States of America.  I am not saying I do not think she is capable, I am simply saying, I am not sure how comfortable I am with putting my life in her hands.  Though she seems very admirable and she seems like she is ready to tackle anything, how prepared can she be to lead our country when she has only been in politics for such a small period of time.  I will stand behind McCain and his decision, but I am not sure if I think it was the best decision.  Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison of Texas would have been my choice, because I think she has the background for the job and maybe more of an appeal to voters, but we shall see.  This election just keeps getting better and better.
