On August 29, 2008 governor Sarah Palin of Alaska was announced as Republican presidential candidate John McCain's running mate. Being a woman myself I am completely for women's rights. However, that being said is Sarah Palin really right for the job? Palin is only 44, making her the youngest Alaskan governor, and she has only served for two years. Prior to her election as governor, she had served two terms on the Wasilla, Alaska, City Council from 1992 to 1996, was elected mayor of Wasilla in 1996 (population 5,470), and ran unsuccessfully for Lieutenant Governor in 2002. She has little executive experience and that is only at the state level. She has no national level experience and is a virtual unknown. Her lack of experience could be a negative for the McCain campaign.

Mr. Obama's fellow Democrats were considerably less welcoming, and most said they were flabbergasted by what they characterized as a desperate, cynical or dangerous choice, given Ms. Palin's lack of any experience in national security.

McCain as president YES, but with Palin as his running mate?
