I said in my last blog entry that it would happen! Before the polls evened opened this morning attorneys in Virgina filed suit to have absentee ballots from soldiers overseas counted even though they did not get processed by the deadline. I relate to this story because I just produced a news story and interview with a soldier about this very same subject, today! He said in his interview that the ballots need to be "in-country", meaning Iraq or Afghanistan, by no later than September first if they were to make it back to the United States in time for their vote to count. The soldiers get mail once a week at best. I think the lawyers are actually doing a commendable thing for once. The people fighting for the right to have this election should have their vote counted first and loudest!!!

The soldiers aren't fighting for our right to vote. Our right to vote is not being threatened, nor is our freedom of speech or right to assemble, or right to protest. Just thought you should know.

The soldiers are fighting for our right to vote. Voting is the best part of a democracy, and democracy is all those thing you said they are not fighting for. Thos things make this democracy great. Just thought you should know, "anonymous".
